Easier, better living for senior Australians

As we age, everyday household tasks can become more difficult, increasing safety risks and pressure on family, but needing support does not mean leaving your own home.

Accessing the right aged care services at the right time, such as domestic assistance, mowing and gardening, or cleaning high-risk areas, helps older Australians stay safe.

Delivered through the Commonwealth Home Support Program, HomeFront’s services support wellbeing and help older Australians live independently at home for longer.

What is the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP)?

The CHSP is an Australian Government funded aged care program designed for older Australians who are generally managing well, but need low-level or entry-level support to continue living at home.

CHSP services are flexible and tailored to individual needs. Depending on eligibility and assessment outcomes, services may include domestic assistance, home maintenance, minor home modifications, meal services, personal care and social support. These services are delivered by approved CHSP service providers and subsidised by government funding, with a small client contribution.

Many people use CHSP services as their first interaction with the aged care system. As needs change or become more complex, individuals may later be referred for a Home Care Package, which provides coordinated and higher-intensity home care services.

HomeFront Australia works within this framework to deliver practical support that aligns with each person’s care plan, preferences and eligibility criteria.
